Interested in learning out more about DJ'ing? Thinking about becoming a DJ? Take our 1-hour introductory session and find out what you've been missing and what the DJ Mix Academy has to offer! Our instructors will give you an overview of the art of DJ'ing, a live DJ’ing demo, and information on our DJ curriculum. Pre-registration is required.

- Saturday afternoons, 12 – 1pm
Do you have access to DJ gear to practice your skills? Instead of purchasing costly DJ equipment, choose our low-cost alternative: renting. As a student or alumni with the DJ Mix Academy you can access to our Master DJ Booth which has everything you need to practice what you learned in class, finetune your DJ’ing skills, and/or make a mix CD, including:
- (2) Technics SL-1200 M3D turntables w/cartridges
- Slipmats by Phonomat
- (2) Pioneer CDJ-1000 CD players
- Pioneer DJM-600 mixer
- Sony RCD-W500C audio CD recorderr
What you’ll need to bring with you to a practice session:
- Headphones
- Music (vinyl and/or CDs)
- Blank audio CD-R CDs (if making a mix CD)
Practice sessions are available Monday – Friday from 10am – 10pm and Saturdays from 10am – 5pm.
Have you been DJ’ing for a while and want feedback on how much you’ve progressed? Want an honest
assessment of your skills? Bring your records and/or CDs and come in for a peer review clinic. Drop a
short set and have our instructors give you specific feedback on your strengths and weaknesses and find
out where you can improve. Pre-registration is required.
